hey guys,

thought you might want to see the shift knob and license frame i made.

the bad news is that i cannot make these for sale because i was told by LOTUS cars north america that LOTUS was not interested in licensing manufacturers here in the states

maybe if you guys push them we can get something done

also here is a pic of the badge i put on my gas cap. i got it from Sector 111. i am going to remove the gas cap when i get a chance and actually recess it flush into the door.

i also changed out the rear letters for the badge and it looks MUCH nicer!!!! :clap:

Lotus is very protective over the use of their logo. However one certainly could sell items with a recess designed to take a badge, and sell the Lotus badges also.

sorry guys but we just have too much to lose with playing around with unlicensed products

a shame becasue we are cureently licensed with viper, mustang, corvette etc and the lotus line would sell well i think.

\i am going to make up some knobs with the gear shift pattern in the lotus color scheme that may look killer.

i will post pics soon.

George, if you made some shift knobs that would work on the Elise at a price point comparable to Momo's (less than $100), I think there would be a demand here. Most of the other alternatives for the Elise are very nice but quite pricey.

I can make quality knobs as nice or nicer for about 45.00.

George, if you do go to market with a shift knob and license plate holder, I'd be interested in both. Just curious, is it possible to manufacture the shift knob with the recessed area, absent the logo. Then sell separately an insert with the shift pattern on it or allow the purchaser to buy the logo emblem directly from Lotus. I assume this would not violate any infringement rights of Lotus.

That shift knob is sweet. If there is a source for the badges already licensed, then couldn't you sell blank knobs, possibly with a couple of optional inserts, and purchasers are free to put in whatever they like, even if it's a badge they buy from somewhere else?

I'd certainly be interested.

By the way, I thought that you were selling your Elise - wasn't it on eBay a few weeks ago? Or was that posted on here? Was that you who was thinking about buying a Gallardo instead?

Nice work on th shift knob.

I'm not a big fan of having a lot of Lotus logos on the car, so I think the gas cap + wheel crests is a little much. Let there be a rule of 3. If you can see 3 badges at a once, it's too much!

I hate how Ferraris have sixteen badges, placed practically everywhere.
