... cracked a chin protector tonight. Didn't even realize they were there!

My car has these strange overlay pieces i've never seen for sale online, and i'm hoping someone can set me up with a lead to replacements. I've always seen every other car's front and wondered why the front lip on my car had a seam nobody elses had.

Well, i cracked one up tonight, and it turns out it's because I have clear polycarbonate covers that'd been painted on the backside to match the car. I'd like to replace them, cause apparently they're worth EVERY penny the previous owner spent on them and they saved me a world of heartache tonight. I just have no clue where to find them. Check the pics out. The pieces i pulled off were definately painted only on the backside and the plastic was clear. I've never seen these on any pics i've seen online.

Anyone got a lead for me on these?

Contact your Lotus dealer. The chin guards are made by Lotus and are shipped clear and you have to get them painted on the rear side. I think I paid around $110 for the set I have on my car. Painting was extra.

Or try this:

Cut this headlight protector into strips and put it under the front of your Lotus where you need it. As many layers as you need. Works great.

Easy To Apply Headlight Shield...An Inexpensive Way To Protect Expensive Lenses
I was shocked to discover how expensive it is to replace a broken headlight lens. A Mercedes C320 lens is over $1000! Don't even ask the price of a vintage car's headlight. This adhesive backed vinyl is 23 mils thick and has a new laminated acrylic coating over the base vinyl, allowing it to be thinner. The hard acrylic coating is more resilient and scratch-resistant, too. It will withstand a pellet rifle shot from 20 feet with absolutely no damage to the lens! Will not alter the appearance of the headlight. Optically clear and treated not to yellow. Cleans like glass and is easy to install in minutes. Perfect for headlights, fog lights, turn signals, etc. Save yourself the cost of a new headlight, and the time installing it! Positioning Spray makes application fast and easy. Protect your investment today.
