I'm considering replacing my clutch with an aftermarket one like ACT, and couldn't find a writeup on replacing the clutch. Anybody know if anyone's written up a walk-through or has pics of the process? Thanks,

John

Sounds like two nice projects for you. One -- clutch replacement. Two -- pictorial logged account of your endeavors.

Haven't seen one otherwise.

No kidding. Except that if I can't find an encouraging writeup, I think I'm likely to do what most others seem to have done and have a shop do the work. We'll see...

If you have a shop do the work, please take notes and lots of pictures!!!!

I looked here and on MM and couldn't find anything.

Well, you can start with searching for the thread on transmission removal/replacement. That is the most difficult part of a clutch job. I saw such a thread here somewhere. Also look at the Lotus service manual sections on the transmission (section FJ) and clutch (section QH). Download the service manual from the Lotus website if you haven't already.

You might also want to look at one of the Toyota manuals that includes the 2ZZ-GE engine for the actual clutch replacment.
