Is this the first cover for the federal elise on a major US car mag? Reviews the Elise against 8 other sports cars on the track. Non committal conclusion states they're all great in thier own special way (I hate that)

I think the first cover shot of the U.S. Elise was in Road & Track's Nov. 2003 issue.

As for the Automobile issue, a few weeks ago, Dan w/ Scottsdale Lotus mention Automobile had the demo Elises reserved for the final day of press rides. They were suppose to be doing a huge article. It's great they compared it with other sports car, but they didn't rank the cars?

BTW, what were the other cars?

Actually Road and Track had a sliding green Elise on the cover in June 2002. We had a long talk about that back in January.

Hockydoc's question was:

The June 2002 car was a Euro-spec Elise. Technically, the silver Nov 2003 cover car was also a Euro-spec Elise, but at least the article was "for" the federal Elise. The BRP Elise on the Dec 2003 cover of AutoWeek may be the first cover "of" the federal Elise.
