I've hosted a pHp support forum for about 5 years, and am currently fed up with outages, slow performance and lack of tech support from my existing host.

Anyone have a recommendation on a reliable, reasonably priced host.
I need to be able to run my pHp script. (sql database)

Thanks,

Been pretty happy with Liquidweb. I have three dedicated servers with them.

I use ServerPronto because it's cheap. Just $30 a month for a dedicated server. But the reason it's cheap is because there is no support of any kind. I don't need it anyways.

But lately they have been sucking and their servers are very slow, probably running off of a single internet connection to save costs.

So my point is: Don't use ServerPronto unless you are just really cheap and don't really care about the performance :p

Thank guys,
The main thing I'm looking for is constant speed. Mine performs like you're on dialup half the time. I've had continual complaints from my members all over the country the last couple weeks.

I don't mind an occasional outage. I don't think anyone is 100%. At least you just leave when there's a 404, but taking an hour to catch up on past posts and make a couple replies is unacceptable. Nothing is more painfull than making an elaborate reply, then timing out when it comes time to submit it and losing your creation.

The 24 hour phone support sounds good. What a novel idea...:)
(is there actually an english speaking person on the other end of the line?)

Anyone else tickled pink over the service of their hosts?

hasweb is very good in terms of reliability, and very cheap. However, the support is lacking. They market themselves as a "nerd's host" and assume you'll fix any issue that doesn't require shell or hardware access.

I'm a 5 year customer of their's, and we use php and mySql. About 2 gigs/month of traffic on a shared server.

One of my other clients uses Network Solutions.. I've not had any complaints about it.. I don't do anything more than basic hosting there tho.. no db or scripting.. so it may not be the cheapest when you add the bells and whistles..

anybody using Yahoo

I thought I saw Yahoo jump into the fray? It should be interesting if they start with low cost servers. I do not think they are doing any dedicated but some of the other servers looked interesting... Anybody using them or heard anything?
