My dealer said they would be having a party when they got their demo. So today I called to see when it was going to be held and then the first thing they say to me is me to come tonight for a party at the dealership. After my initial shock, they tell me they got their Aston Martin DB9 demo in.

I went and spoke with the Lotus rep and they said that they expect their Elise demo around the middle of June, and that Lotus is about 2 weeks behind their original schedule. They said that Lotus UK will notify Lotus USA when they ship the cars over so the dealer will be notified and then they will arrive about 2 1/2 weeks later. So at least we know know that we will get some notice. I think that Lotus wants to get more marketing material and brochures ready so that dealers have them for when the demos come out. I hoping that this will give them more time to get some extra cars made and send them over with the demos. Right now, the delaer said they have no idea of how many cars are coming in the first shipment.

I didnt fit in with the super rich Aston Martin crowd. A mother was there with her daughter and the mother said that car matched the color or the daughters watch. Sure why not spend 200K on a car for your kid so they can be fashion co-ordinated. Just for fun I asked one of the women where the shifter for the transmisson was, since I didnt see one. She said, "Its push button, right on the front console, see the little P R N D buttons" I guess she knew more about the car than I thought.

I also hear that someone whose picture co-incidently happens to be in my avitar and whose name sounds very similar to "Elise" was at the dealership the other day.

I feel duped. I read the title, and I thought I'd need to schedule a little drive down to Palm Beach this weekend. Darn you! Teasing me like that  Good thing I was planning on waiting until the middle of june anyway.
Not only can some of the female Aston representatives tell you a lot about what they are selling, but they aren't too shabby behind they wheel. Most of the employees that I have met from AM of NA, as well as the local dealership in San Diego, have completed the high performance driving course at the Millbrook test track over in England. It is the equivalent of the Porsche Driving Experience.

I'll post when they actually get the real demo in, and the date of the party in case anyone wants to show up. Melbourne is about about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. I always stop there for gas on my way to Daytona since its about the half way mark.

It wasn't an Aston Martin rep- It was the lady who was looking into purchasing the car for her kid.
Scary thing is the dealer told me that it comes with an optional 900 watt stereo- Just what every kid needs to have when they pull up at a stoplight next to you. "You dont even know the name of my car, but you just want me to drive you up to the bar- My apologies to Slim Shady
