I agree, but it begs the question- what happens when Lotus releases an upgraded engine option to keep sales up in 2 years? I guess it could be an Elise S. It is curious that they have essentially shut the door on a string of versions w/ the naming or lack of.

Don't really know that it limits the naming ability. I think Elise S (as you suggest) or Elisesport.

BTW> The 111S (both S1 and S2) came before the 111R!
