I was under the impression that my '07 Exige S wasn't equipped with one, however upon removing the rear clam, I saw this:

I know that the only sure way to tell is to raise the car and spin a rear wheel and observe the other rear wheel, but the car's at the shop and I didn't think to do so since the green writing threw me for a loop.

If you just jack up the car and spin one wheel, you won't be able to tell that its an LSD since this is a helical not plate type LSD. someone corrected me if I'm wrong.

with that said, it seems like you do indeed have one, unless some jokester painted it on to mess with you

i was hoping this thread was going to have burnout pics or vids. :(
Heh, I don't beat on the Lotus like that. Perhaps an old video of my former E46 M3 will suffice:

i have seen stock bmw LSD take wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more abuse. It's just a car.
Correct. I was the Service Manager of a BMW dealership at the time. We sponsored track days, so I had the ability to see many customer's cars and never saw a diff failure through spinning the tires on the track or any off-track shenanigans I had the good fortune of seeing and participating in.

The car in the video was my personal car and it never, ever, let me down mechanically (save a failed alternator).

I'm a little confused because sometimes I see smoke from only one wheel, indicating no LSD, but I swear I see both spinning.

Also, I hope you weren't using the brake...
Both are spinning and smoking. The camera was a sh*tty little Kodak point and shoot, so the sound and video quality are both poor.

I never used the brake, just the throttle.
