thanks for the info.....after seeing your pictures, I'm tempted to get one for the garden also.
Stage 2 exhaust: $622.27Stan said:I think the Stage 2 goes for about $600-625. I had mine installed (including customized diffuser trimming) for about $850. It's well made, this is apparent when you examine one before the install. For that matter the stock exhaust is nicely built too.
Sounds to me like dealer prices vary a bit. Perhaps I should order mine quickly before the parts dept changes their mind.hermanslotus said:Thats not too bad. Why are people telling me that the part cost $800, plus install??![]()

Anyone can sell anything they like for whatever price they choose. Lotus has no say. Otherwise, the Feds call it "price fixing". :no:hermanslotus said:So your telling me that one dealer can sell the factory Lotus parts for one price and another can sell them for a higher price????
I don't know about you guys, but according to me and Borat something smells like a S#*& in here
Hey way to go Lotus:huh:
It is extreme! It may change in time. Right now,it's called "Price gouging". No law against that I guess.hermanslotus said:Haven't really found that to be true at BMW dealers. You give them a part # for say a factory water pump. The price for that water pump is pretty much the same price give or take a few dollars if you buy it on the east coast or west coast.
Were talking here about a $200 price difference from one dealer to another. Doesn't that sound extreme??? It does to me.

No you can't. I called my dealer this morning and they quoted me exactly $622.27 for Stage 2 and $ 456.33 for Stage 1. You might want to call several dealers and get quotes.. It may prove interesting!DetailersParadise said:I plan to do some more investigating into this. If Lotus has an official price sheet, I would love to take a look at it.
FOD has been very, very good to me and I'm sure if there was a mistake or discrepancy they will make it right. They are a new dealer and still learning the Lotus methodology. I simply can't go to them and state a couple of guys on the internet said the price should be closer to $600.
I believe you are absolutely correct. They don't have the exhaust in stock and said it would probably take about 3 days, although they didn't really know since they haven't yet ordered parts from Lotus.agent.5 said:Plus no sales tax from mail order. Both dealers that you mentioned are both probably drop ship from the manufacturer warehouse. In short, call all the dealers using the toll-free phone numbers and simply buy from the cheapest one.
But quite a handsome backyard decoration at any price. Wait till some of those beverly Hills folks see your pictures.DetailersParadise said:I wonder if the price discrepency has to do with installation and the way Lotus prices the product. Different dealers interpret the price sheet differently.
One scenario could be the exhaust is a $622 retail item, but is considered dealer install only. That would run the price up to around $800. One dealer reads the price sheet as $622 plus install and the other $800 installed. That doesn't explain why I have an $800 exhaust decorating my backyard, but as we have all discovered, nothing about this love affair is textbook.
