To classify this incident under the banner of "drunk driving" is to misrepresent the true nature of drunk driving, and its seriousness as a social problem.
Sure, this guy may have been drunk when he went on his rampage, but his actions don't fit the profile of a typical drunk driver. My guess is that he did what he did because he's a sociopath. If he had been "just" a drunk driver, he probably would have fled the neighborhood after his first collision, and driven straight home, as best as he could.
Given that he basically hit EVERYTHING he possibly could, I think we can assume he on a very deliberate mission to destroy things.
I don't fear random sociopaths. I fear the far greater number of people who think they're sober enough to drive, but don't understand the real dangers they pose to other drivers.
