Some time after 10/2/15 I've stopped getting e-mail notifications that I've received a Private Message.

All worked well up to that point and no settings have been changed. The option to get the e-mails is still checked.

Cheers.

Can you guys confirm your settings for PM's here:

http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions

Private Messaging
This forum features a private messaging system, which allows members to send messages to one another privately.

If you do not want to send or receive private messages, you may disable the private messaging system.
Enable Private Messaging

You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and your contacts. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging.
Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators

The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message.
Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages

If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.
Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

When sending private messages the forum can make a copy of the message in your Sent Items folder.
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default

Yep. Was sent a follow up PM on this issue around 6am PDT. No e-mail.

can you guys add [email protected] and [email protected] to your safe filter list.

It could be that you're email system are blocking them.

Lee
I can try, but my e-mail setup doesn't "reject/auto delete" anything. If it thinks it's [email protected], then it just moves it to a junk folder, where I can verify before deleting manually because my ISP is over zealous at what it marks as spam. That folder doesn't have anything in it.

Cheers.

Ha. I just received an e-mail notifying me of a PM. It's timed @ 3:02pm 10/15/15.

This was the last PM I received. Still haven't seen any notification for a few previous to this one.

Cheers.

This is what was happening to mine as well. Got the email like 4 or 5 days late.

I think the e-mail headers of the delayed message show where the issue might be happening:

Look at the time-stamps in the highlighted lines. To me, that looks like verticalscope.com held on to the message for a few days instead of forwarding it immediately. Or carrierzone.com wouldn't accept it, which I didn't see with any other messages delivered to me.

s*****[email protected]*******x.net is my local server picking up the messasge from the pop3 server (carrierzone.com) that hosts my public e-mail: s*****[email protected]*******l.net

Cheers.

So I tracked your emails. You email provider is throttling our emails to check if they are spam. Basically it holds back emails for a set amount of time and if it keeps getting them it will allow a small trickle through. Spam would change addresses or IP's so that is how it is telling we are not spam. You can contact your email provider and ask them to add us to your white list and that would help.

Thank you for looking into this.

Your description of what they are doing really doesn't make any sense. They let through hundreds of e-mails a day that are absolute [email protected] because they come from different IPs, but hold back mails that come from the same IP. How many do they get from LotusTalk. If that really were the case, then I should be seeing this for a whole lot more mails than JUST LotusTalk. Plus, what happened to all the mails before the one I listed above. Shouldn't they have arrived at some point, because they didn't.

Cheers.

We end up getting back listed from time to time by email providers by members who no longer visit the forums reporting notification emails from the site as spam. Typically when a member leaves the forum and does not contact us to deactivate their account they will still get notification emails and report the email. The email provider gets a few of these reports and they black list us as a spam IP.

If we're on their blacklist they will prevent all our emails from coming into your inbox.

Sorry about the inconvenience.
