I'm in the process of buying an Exige and have requested an ECU dump before I buy. I'm not sure what is good and what is bad.....can someone who is familiar with reading one of these explain how it should look in a car that hasn't been abused. Thanks in advance!

I'd say the poor car has been driven like a Toyota Prius but not like a Lotus.
Out of its entire life it only spent 3 minutes and one second above 7k rpm.

And max rpm of 8685 is absolutely uncritical.

I dare you to go buy it and drive it like it is meant to be driven.

This car has just been babied

I'd say buy it then drive it like you stole it while being chased by cops and donut stands are on every corner!

Seriously though, these cars have not really lived until you get close to the rev limiter!

Cool, that's what I wanted to hear. I was curious about the 8685 max RPM, isn't this into the rev limiter? I'm also not sure what the TPS represents.... is it something to do with throttle pressure? If so, as stated by bmw330ciandr6 the TPS8 data time states 80-100 is 0. Just trying to understand how to read this data correctly.

I would not say that car has been babied. It has been over 120mph and a decent amount of trips to the redline. Looks like a well enjoyed car. And for the TPS, not sure stock ECU Exiges get 100% throttle?

I disagree.
Going fast doesn't do any harm to a car. I go faster than this on my morning drive into work every day in my 4700 pound DD, yet I'm still babying that car
And I wouldn't call 3 seconds above 7k rpm "a decent amount"...

As promised :shift:
rotfl
See, this is an example of a non-babied car
I think it is the first time that I see 5 digit rpm numbers on an ECU dump.
Fastest 0 to 100km/h is a little unrealistic though...

That is minutes, not seconds. "Babied" is drivers who have said they have never been on the second cam which there are a lot of. In the states if you are doing over 90mph you are definitely a spirited driver. Looking at the ECU dump again, looks like the owner takes cam change over as a cue to shift. And the second ECU dump, not sure I would like a motor to see 5 digit rpms.

Note to self: purchase new ECU and drive it for a week before selling my car.

Falcon, Did the motor survive the 10,000 rpm downshift without damage?
Same for the other outings above the rev limiter.

that first ecu dump, the owner should be ashamed! only 3m above 7k? what a waste.
