Really a beautiful car! I had the Zetec in my series 4 Seven, with the close ratio Sierra 5-so. Fantastic torque, and a blast to drive; sure not as pretty as this Elan 'tho. Have fun!

Do you have any more info on the transmission and induction set up? I'm just starting to collect bits for my own z-tec/ elan conversion. Thanks, John

Hi John,
The transmission used is Ford Scorpio (UK) MT75 5 speed, using Scopio LSD diff and drive train.
The induction I'm using is Jenvey throttle bodies. I'll have to check what size and get back to you. pic below, (sorry for poor quality phone pic.)

Thanks Relative Pants,
Hardtop is ready, had some strengthening ribs added underneath main rood area, and re-sprayed, ready to come home.
I'll post another pic with rear screen fitted and roof on car
Happy Christmas folks!

Quick update....Elan is coming on, electrics almost finished. Body has been on and off chassis a few times now to get roll bar/side impact bars sorted, and mid mounted fuel tank fixed in.
Body going back on next week for final fixing, then dash and screen fitting, steering column, carpet fitting, roll bar fitting, complete fuel lines/pump/electrics....and hey we're almost there!!!
I'll post some new pics soon

Update

Hi, yes I'm still building....I seem to have been doing lots of work with: electrics, body going on and off a lot to get mid mounted fuel tank, roll bar and side impact bars fitted. But little progress to show at this point.
I'm hoping to progress quite quickly into the new year, so will post some new photos then.
Meanwhile Happy Christmas everyone.

must admit though...I've had another distraction recently....I've just placed an order for a new V6 Exige!! - should take delivery at beginning of April...that will slow the elan build too!

:) If you are not careful, the Exige could end up stopping the Elan build completely!

Love the work on the body, I doubt that mine will end up as good. In fact I know it won't.

Still on electrics and trying to keep the smoke in the wires!
