As an aside - in my STR class NC Miata that the Elise replaced I once had an alignment with max caster and it was horrible. I was counter-steering out of every corner. My theory is that the dynamic changes in camber as I unwound caused it to be incredibly unstable. With the caster dialed back it was quite a kick ass car! But unlike the Elise (So I'm told) and my Spyder, it hated trail braking. In fact with that high caster alignment any trail braking at all would result in instant spin.

I'll report back on the 5th.

The max caster you'll see is about 3.5 degrees. So, you might not see the same negative affects that you saw with your NC.

So even through you've never driven your car hard, and you don't know the rules of A-Street, which a class in autocross where you can't run steering arms, or modified balljoints etc, you keep arguing with a variety of people who do. Got it.
I drive my car hard at times, but not in anger. Maybe you just don't understand that. Typical track-rat.

I can get negative 2 out of the front without steering arms/modified ball joints/etc. In fact, no one would even know. And isn't that the point of racing; to cheat without getting caught? You should know...

No, it's not the point of racing... at least at the grassroots level that this thread is about. Trust me, if someone in AS was able to achieve -2*, they would be spotted and protested at their first national event. They would lose any kind of reputation they had and would be shunned by the community. Respect is all we race for.

The manual is a joke, they'd have the American public believing that -.2° front camber is enough :facepalm.

The car handles best with 5mm of rake, regardless of the ride height. That is direct from one of my guys at Lotus. Believe it or not, makes no difference to me. The subject came up because I have 17's in the front, so slightly negative rake, even being very low in the front.
Not trying to argue but just to learn about alignment (a subject about which I am woefully ignorant - you were kind enough to help me out with measuring my ride height a few months ago; my car is higher on one side).

Can those of us who have the stock non-adjustable suspension get a rake in the car?

There are all kinds of things you can do to get rake, the question is; do you really need to? PM me and I'll give you the details.

Here's where I ended up with "street" class setup, netting 2nd place in SS at 2015 nats. The stock Elige chassis has chronic understeer. I focused on setup changes to make the rear rotate more than stock and in a more predictable manner. Then learn to drive the car with the intent of sliding everywhere.

Front settings -
max front camber (about -.7deg)
max front caster
~1/8" total toe out
medium rebound settings
low-medium compression settings
BWR S/T front bar on 3/5 (5 is full stiff)
25-26 psi hot
205/50/15 RE71Rs
minimum allowable wheel offset

Rear settings -
camber: -1.7 degrees
zero total toe
medium rebound settings
maximum compression settings
27-28 psi hot
245/40/17 RE71Rs
maximum allowable wheel offset

Edit: corrected front toe
Trying to go over your set up in various threads.. I cannot find or remember why you were running 15's up front?
