Elise Coming to Portland, OR

Assuming the transporter makes it here ok we expect to have one of the factory cars here tomorrow (June 8th).

I am wondering how many people might be interested in coming down to take a look. If we can get enough to help to staff the booth I think I can swing a place at the Rose Cup races this weekend.

Anybody interested?

wow. I'm confused. I'm assuming this isn't a federal car as most rumours pointed to delivery towards the end of June.

Can you enlighten us more?

I would assume it's a federal car like those at Birmingham and Lake Tahoe.
Factory car. One of the ones the press have been driving and writing about.

So it should be essentially what is getting delivered, but a but rough around the edges as I assume it was part of a short run prior to production start.

It's on loan as part of the raffle kickoff.
so give more details dammit...:)....I would love to take a look.
Sorry but your post appeared as I was typing my reply.

I believe it is the same car as was at Lake Tahoe but if not the same one of the group.
As I said we are looking at taking a spot at the Rose Cup Races this weekend, but we need enough hands to fully man the booth.

Assuming we can hustle up sufficient volunteers we will roll the car out there. Again depending on how many people can show up we would display one, two or the full three days of the event.

I have people committed from the school such that there always would be at least one person from our staff there, but given the size of the crowd and the excitment the car is likely to generate I would like more bodies around to be on the safe side.

Anyone who might be interested can email me directly at [email protected]
I would help if I was there, I think it's fun to help demo the car.

When Clyde and Kiyoshi was not there at the Lake Tahoe concourse, I fell into the role of answering questions for the Elise. I had a good time.

Yup... It was as if there was a bungy cord tied to Randy's ankle... never further than 5 feet away! :D :D Oh... except to get in line for the BBQ...

I don't Randy was suffering at all! LOL

Kiyoshi
I wanted one more run. Just one more.

:)
I would be willing to help on Sunday afternoon...let me know...Ill email ya.
Great. If the local Lotus club comes through we might have enough staff to pull it off.

Hopefully the weather will clear for the weekend.

Anybody else live near Portland or coming in for the races?
Do you know which car this is? When I spoke to Dave at Park Place he mentioned that this was possibly one of the LA auto show cars but in any event was going to be a "static" car and not drivable.

Unfortunatley I can 't make it down but I believe this car will be up at Park Place at the end of the month...correct me if I'm wrong Edelman.

Thanks
I'm in Eugene, but sadly, can't get away this weekend to come up I-5. If it is in fact an LA show car, I have already seen the car and had some stationery seat time. Hope the rain stops for the weekend and hope you have a great time. We should try to arrange to get those of us from the Northwest together this summer. Perhaps at the American LeMan, Portland Historics, Seattle Historics, or at the British Field Meets in Bellevue or Portland?
Assuming no changes the car will be at the Rose Festival Races this weekend, next week's CART race and the American Lemans.

We are also talking to the Historics, the All British Field Meet and looking at the Hillsboro Air Show so there will be plenty of opportunity to see the car in Portland.

As of today the only event scheduled in Seattle is the Historics on July 4th.

If anyone in the NW has other venues they think would be worthwhile, feel free to let me know.
The car we have now cannot be driven more than on and off the carrier however I am working to get a fully driveable car.

Worst case that would be when Park Place's demo car comes in assuming they are ok to make it available when we are able to secure track time.

Stay tuned.
Ooops. I must have messed up somewhere. Many apologies. Hit me again. Or call my cell 503-317-9608 anytime in the morning.

Last three days have been a total zoo as I deal with last minutes insanity. For example the car only arrived late this afternoon which is cutting it way too close.
