Hi everyone. First post here. Any elise owners in north jersey? I currently have a mazda az-1 and at 1587lbs it truly feels light and fun to drive. However, I have always been wondering about the elise since it's only about 400lbs heavier but much more powerful. Would love to meet in person and if you could take me for a ride, or we can even swap cars, even if only for 10 mins, up to you.

Thank you,

Dood your light as can be almost. I would try to get some more bean output out of your squirrel motor whatever it is.

lotus72Eur Yeah I don't know what I'm doing to myself haha.

Motard The engine in the az-1 is a 3 cyl 0.6L turbo. Not much to gain there, maybe 100-120hp tops. Aftermarket for this car is almost non-existent and you really have to overnight parts from Japan just in this case overnight = over a month.

I vote you do a hayabusa swap for the AZ1, and get an Elise. Sorry mate, if you were on the left coast I would totally take you up on this.

Too bad I’m not closer to you, I’ve got an Elise, a Cappuccino and a gigantic S2000. The Cappuccino is tons of fun but the Elise is better in every way. The S2000 is more like a Cadillac now

I would love to do a hayabusa swap on the az-1, but I don't think it has been done before and there will be a lot of fabrication involved so I'm holding up on it for now.

I have a friend who had an S2000 and we swapped cars for 30 mins. He used to own an elise before I knew him and after trying out the az-1 he said the az-1 feels to the elise like the elise feels to the S2000.
