re: Power

I solved the pulley problems.

The final dyno numbers were 600hp and 400ft.lbs. from 6500 to 8500 flat at 25psi and a small leaf blower stuck in the intercooler for cooling airflow (not enough).

The smaller turbine housing is coming on Monday. Maybe I will have tiem to try it out.

A lot of the body panels are off the car, so not much to picture. We will put it back together next week and take some pics with windshield.... I hope.

Finally on the track

Finally I got the car aligned and set-up to shake down.

The car understeers... a fair amount.

It handles and brakes well.

600 whp is just about right... I thought the turbine housing was too large, but it feels OK on the track the car is so light.

I will take more pics.

Looks great!

How is the rear wing attached to the chassis? Looks like there is lots of leverage on the uprights.

re: Inconel

I took the exhaust wrap off to replace the turbo.....

Take a look at the pic.

The header is made of Inconel. It turned an interesting gun-metal green color. Otherwise, it feels shiny and smooth and as good as new. The collector is a Burns collector made from 321 (an aircraft exhaust stainless). It looks scaly and rusty! Both parts get very hot (bright red). Inconel is only 0.028 thick, the 321 collector is 16 gauge.

I think, I will be making all my headers from Inconel when I can afford it!

My ZX10R Nassert Beet header/exhaust is Inconel/Titanium. I've been told that Inconel is a beeotch to work with.

re: Is Inconel hard to work

Well, not that hard. You have to use good sharp tooling. So a carbide cut-off wheel worked fine. We tried to cut it with old metal saw, it ground all the teeth off. Inconel work-hardens ie. becomes harder as you work it. Did not have to bend it, since I bought u-bends, anyway. Welding is not hard at all. Making the weld pretty is harder :) Titanium is much harder to weld...

It is just so $$$, more than Ti. Otherwise, it is nice and strong, so the piping is thin and light. Inconel stands higher temperatures and does not loose strength as fast as steel or Ti with temperature, so it can be made much lighter, especially for exhaust. All F1 and NASCAR exhaust is Inconel.

I am going racing, again! Canada Supercar Series

There is a new semi-pro race series starting here. It looks like they will let me in. :)

http://supercar.ca/

I need to run some stock trim pieces. See my post in WTB, please.

Also, if I have to run a stock diffuser, what is the best one?

Where is the site with all the Lotus manual pages and parts and prices? I need to install front lights. I have S1 front clam.

they allowed me my turbo Honda motor and a sequential tranny from Quaife. I will be running against race prepared Scuderia F430 and GT3's. Based on my testing, I should be competitive. Need to hit 1:24 at Mosport, consistently...

re: My new tranny

It is a Quife Honda kit with Tyler's billet bell-housing (the rear case is Quaife). So besides a few bearings and seals, this is not a Honda tranny anymore. :) It fits into the same spot. The fit is tighter as the case is a little larger in diameter.... had to shave a few places. :)

I have known John Caravaggio (of same names Corvette shop), since 1992. He has done a lot of work for me and with me, including a LeMans C5...

The price is very little compared to the quality and workmanship. John does a lot of work for OEM's, also...

Anton

You mean Quaife, right?

You work at Caravaggio? I have a C6 Corvette so I've seen a lot of their work. Pretty pricey stuff.
