Hi guys,

I am well aware of the fact that my existing auto insurance carrier
would never compensate me fairly if I suffered a total loss situation
on my '07 Exige S

Haggerty will not underwrite our cars (not old enough yet). So who do
people use for supplemental coverage?

Thanks,

Henry

I've been using Grundy for 5 years. No claims but no issues either.

Haggerty covered my ‘07 Exige, not sure why they wouldn’t cover you. It just cannot be your only vehicle.

I have Hagerty as well on my 07 Exige; the car only needs to be a future collectable and you need a reasonably DD car for every driver in the household. Shoot - I have it on a 2013 Miata!

Ok, thanks guys. I went on their web site, entered Lotus under the marque drop down and the Elise/Exige is not included.
Also if you go to enter the year they only go back to 1994.

So I just called and the issue is Massachusetts regulations. They will not allow a carrier like Hagerty to underwrite coverage on cars younger than
25 years of age. Humm, me thinks there was pressure on state legislature fro MA auto carriers.

Urg!!!

Thanks,

Henry

Grundy will do agreed value on Elise/Exige no problem. Mine is insured for 50k for $818 yearly in the NYC metro area.

I've been with USAA for decades, both my cars were hit by others in 2017 & 18 and USAA paid no questions asked, but my premiums on both cars went up substantially.
