Hi

I`m in the process of repainting the Elise and I would like to blend the front bumper and front clamp into a 1 peice look just like the Exige. I know it`s been done but I really cam`t find any info.

How are you guys doing it? Filling the gap with fiberclass resin or body fill? Or are you actualy putting a peice of fiberglass over it to cover it?

I know the last one would be the best, but it`s also the most work. Would regular body fill hold or just crack? would resin hold?

Please help me out.
thanks

I`ll get the fiberclass rod out, there right next to my cement rods.

I was under the impression that the bumper was bonded (glued) to the front clam? If they are two seperate peice, I can see the replacement being harder since you would have to re-cut the seam but wouldn`t removal still be the same?

I have only taken the rear off. I have never had to touch the front so I don`t know how it`s mounted yet.

We used an epoxy compound to fill the gap, you could use
fiberglass filler if you want. Just make sure you prepare
the surface so the filler bonds properly. The gap serves
no purpose but to show where the 2 panels
join. Makes no difference in front clam removal.
Just makes things a little cleaner.
By fiberglass filler, do you mean regular fiberglass resin?

Thanks alot guys that what I wanted to know
