My 05 elise fuel tank has some glue in the corners of the baffles.
It has somehow deteriorated and is crumbling.
Sloshed a few tank fulls of water around. Probably have most of the loose crud out.
Question. Any reason to not use a fuel tank repair kit. Like

Seems to me, as long as I plug the hose at the bottom of the take (return line? Or flow through tube?)
And I wouldn’t use too much of the coating glue. Just enough to get the seams.
Any thoughts please!

In my opinion, POR 15 is a last ditch effort to salvage a rusty fuel tank that can't economically be replaced. I have read too many horror stories about the POR 15 flaking off and causing more problems.

If your baffles are loose (they all are) and you put POR 15 in there, the POR 15 will try to glue the baffles in place but it will not be strong enough and movement will start peeling the POR 15.

Has the glue in your tank been causing you problems? The better option is to replace the tank with an aftermarket aluminum tank.

I believe the small flakes are worse than big ones plugging holes and destroying pumps
I am trying to get a oversock for the filter. no one has any locally. airtech or quantum may supply. but they have not replied in a week. guess they don't care/don't have, or are too busy etc..

the only saving again for por is glomping things (little bits of glue) together

yes, some race day I may opt for a new tank. most likely I should build one as i am more cheap than the next scot
