Anyone have a source for an Elise R/C car? I've seen the expensive one ($300), but other than that, it's slim pickings. Here's one on ebay in Australia, but it's really a cheapo that he's charging a lot for: Elise R/C Car

His price works out to about $75 US. A similar one for my MR2 Spyder was selling on ebay recently for about $30. Besides, the guy in AU won't ship outside AU.

Anyone know another source for these, or for some other reasonably-priced R/C Elise?

Call your local dealer. Princeton Sport and Specialist Cars had one in their accessory department. I've also seen a S1 exige that LCU had in stock. The models are out there, you just need to look for them.

they are made by a company called HPI, the model is a RS4.
thay are cool little cars, AWD and very fun to drive.

Thanks, but that's the expensive stuff! I was looking for something simple and cheap. Actually, I found a guy in the US who had some like the one from Australia -- but much cheaper. I've contacted him to see if he still has any.

You can buy a HPI Dash radio controlled car, which includes everything you need: assembled car, radio, batteries.

Then get one of the Elise bodies in 200mm (fits the Dash), and paint it your favourite colour.

There is also a variety of wheels that will fit that car to further customize it.

Good info, thanks! I think you need to add a battery to that, but those aren't too expensive. There's also a seller on ebay who sells painted car bodies, including an Elise. They don't go for much more than the unpainted one, and he/she does a great job, from what I saw in the listings.

But I think I'm all set, cause I managed to find one of the cheap ones I was looking for. It's the one in my original posting in this thread. I found it from a seller in California for about $41 shipped. She had listed them on ebay a couple of weeks ago, so I contacted her. Regret to say I got the last one. But if I come across more, I'll post the info here.
