Hey All,

My Elise is currently in the shop undergoing diagnostics, repairs and cleaning after a massive rodent infestation. Insurance is covering the entire process; however, getting approvals for the hourly labor has been extremely slow-going. According to the dealership, unlike most other cars, Lotus never published a guide for hourly labor relative to the R&R of parts. Accordingly, every estimate my shop sends to the carrier results in the carrier going to another shop and asking if the labor is reasonable. I talked to a buddy who is a service rep for Toyota and he confirmed that the Elise isn't mentioned in the Mitchell guide. Anyone know of any other resources I could point them to? Otherwise, this is going to take forever.

Thanks,

Eric

Where are you located? Jon at Trackspec here in Nor Cal does many many Lotus jobs and so would have credible estimates.

Is the issue the time it takes to do a given job or the hourly rate charged for each hour?
