Hi everyone

As everyone knows, the Elise battery runs flat after a few weeks of not being driven. A good incentive to drive the car (if you ever needed one), but not very practical!

I recently bought a battery shut-off screw adapter that can be placed onto the battery's positive terminal, and into which one screws the battery cable. However on removing the battery from its housing, it seems impossible to find a spanner small enough to loosen the screws attaching the cables to the terminals...

The space between terminal, battery and screw seems so small that I have no idea how they got it on in the first place!!

This is undoubtedly a stupid question, but is there some special tiny spanner that can be used to unscrew the battery cable from the terminal?

Any help would be appreciated thanks!

By spanner, you mean wrench to the US folks in here. :)

No, no... he was implying he needs a fool with a small arm to reach to the battery terminals. It is tight in there you know.

I personally wouldn't let my spanner friends work on my lotus though :D
