Hey Everybody
I need picts of Elises with racing stripes... preferable Saffron, but any picts would do. I am trying to make a decision. Also where you could get stripes put on and any basic pricing.

Also the pros and cons...

Yeah... I know... It's just to motivate me. Now that I don't have a sports car... I am really looking "forward" to the Elise. I am almost positive I am getting stripes, now it is a question of what color and how the stripes look with LLS rims unpainted.

Are you thinking about stripes because you saw lots of SY elises without stripes this weekend and because you want to stand out a little more from the other yellow Elises?

In my case, I want to stand out a little, from all the other SY cars.

Yeah, suppose this weekend wasn't a fair test. Stripes somewhat to stand out for all the other SY. The CO had them and it looked pretty good. Really hadn't consider it till seeing it in person. Thinking of one BRG down the middle of the front hood only.

Advisory for all of you seeking distinction with stripes:
-- if half of you add stripes, there'll be two distinctions of SY, but no individuality.
-- Therefore, why not add checks instead of stripes. Then you could look distinctively like a really small taxi.

AW- your right on that one. That's why I'm only thinking of one strip on only the front of the car. I'll admit spending a hour or two behind 4 SY Elise's behinds have distorted my views.

Still Larry, I was only half kidding. Everybody, no matter what their body color, has that flat-black frame around the windshield. I think checks there might look cool. Photoshop anyone?

Now maybe this is a dream, but IIRC there was once a team of rallye cars that had a distinctive wrap of checks, and they looked a little like a taxi but also very mean too. The right size checker pattern might be just the right distinctiveness -- maybe just as a sun-screen along the top edge of glass. Again photoshop might proof it before trying it.

I now know I wasn't dreaming, but this model of the 60s Monte Carlo Mini Coopers I just found doesn't carry the impact that I recall.
