Emira Deposits & Build Slots - U.S. Dealers

Discuss your experience and findings regarding Lotus Dealership policies for taking deposits and reserving an allocation/ build slot for the Emira.

If you have already inquired or placed a deposit and earned a reservation, feel free to share—if you’re comfortable—the dealership name & location as well as things like how much they are asking for the deposit, if they’ve mentioned ADM/ no ADM, or any other fascinating experiences you’ve had.

Lyna is very new there.. I'll DM you to discuss further.
Not mention this lady seemed to think she needed to speak to a man on my behalf?? “Someone more appropriate to talk to”??? Not sure what kind of sales approach this is but I noticed that anytime I call a dealership, they hand me off to a female sales advisor. Very annoying.
Yeah that sexism has been ongoing forever. My SO went to a Ford dealer in Fl years ago and saw the wall of suits inside pushing the FNG out to her. Maybe prejudging on her sandals, tee shirt and overalls along with her being a women. Their smiles soon changed as they walked inside within minutes and she left shortly after purchasing not one but two F250's for her farm. The new guy was beaming and all the other suits had a WTF look on their faces. Just goes to show don't judge a book by it's cover.

I don't think it's "sexism" at play here but just not an appropriately worded standard boiler plate e-mail, as you see I got the same exact e-mail. At the end of the day I didn't go with Lotus of North Jersey even though they are the closest to me dealership as I found non-refundable deposit on a car where pricing hasn't been announced a bit ridiculous.

Thanks for the advice. I'm doing my due diligence and checking all the CA locations. I've already sent and email to Gator and have warned my wife that there is a very real chance of getting this car from Indiana and just paying for transportation and dealing with the out of state transfer.

Thank you
Speak to Tom at Boardwalk. Great guy and straight shooter. He previously told me they were at MSRP, but had a long list/deposits and no idea yet how many Emira’s they’ll get initially. Good luck.

Specifically re: Lyna, she's managing their entire Emira waitlist. I had another salesperson for my Evora GT purchase (in the same timeframe) and he handed me off to her also for my Emira deposit.

Btw their deposit list is upto #82 if anyone’s wondering.
Going there Saturday to drive an evora since I’ve never even been in a newer lotus.

My DMV friend also recommended that I purchase it in CA just to avoid this possible situation and any other issues that might arise. :( When I got the Atom from Sector 111, I think Shinoo did this for me as well. So I didn't have to go through it. That car was registered under SPCNS so that is also the reason. But I totally believe you knowing how strict and annoying CA DMV is...speaking as a former employee.

Thanks for the advise. Working it out with Los Gatos now. But Major props to Allison and the team at Gator. 100% amazing customer service. It almost makes me want to deal with the headache since they are amazing over there...
But if by chance it had issues passing the CA DMV, you would know then and there that you had an issue and it would be resolved under warranty. Better than waiting years down the road to find that you fail.
I put down my deposit $2500 with Lotus in Charlotte at spot # 6 on their list. Selling at MSRP. They are a new dealer so I’m not sure how many they will be allocated and when. Daniel was easy to deal with all over the phone and super prompt with questions and responses.

I was told by Lotus in Pittsburgh no promises on MSRP but they felt like they had enough allocations not to do a markup but would not put it in writing. Not in writing I was not comfortable with.

I called Gator and they were extremely kind and honest but at spot 126 I was not sure if would ever get a car. Also was pleased with dealership in Nashville but too far to drive. Time will tell if I chose wisely but Daniel was great to deal with.

In the spring I told Aston Martin Lotus Boston that I wanted the first Emira and they said "you got it". That literally was the entire process.
Does anyone know of a USA dealer with a fairly short wait list? I’m located in Utah but willing to travel. Las Vegas and Denver dealers are closest and I plan to call both. Just wondering about others. Please and thank you.

You're late to the game and at this point probably looking at '23

There are only like 37 dealers, you can literally call them all. However.. sometimes it pays to go with a dealer with a longer list but a much higher allocation. I don't know if that kind of information is public.

I would stay away from Cali dealers though... or at least tread carefully. There's so much demand there, they are taking higher $$ reservations and they're also not guaranteeing MSRP. They're looking to play games, so if you're willing to pay more you can jump to the front of the pack. Unless that's your thing.... your call.

First Edition is obviously off the table at this point, but '23 will be right around the corner.

You might want to jump over the Emira section and check out the threads and get caught up on the Emira.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I figured the first editions were all spoken for by now. I’m willing to wait for a 23 but I’d still like to find the best options for availability.

I've lobbied Lotus to add a dealer in Boise. I'm in Idaho. I pointed out to them there's a giant hole in that region of the U.S. They could easily add a dealer in Boise and/or Salt Lake. The only dealers we have in the Pacific northwest are Bellevue, Washington, and Las Vegas. I placed my order with Park Place in Bellevue. Alan Grana was my salesman, and I got it in writing they're selling at MSRP. I don't know if they're still taking orders right now but you can call and ask. Alan's number is (925) 899-7067.
The local SLC Ferrari dealer used to carry Lotus as well. Hopefully someone will bring Lotus back to Utah/Idaho sometime in the future.
Is that Ken Garff? I've taken my Alfa Romeo there before. It would make sense he'd be the one to bring back Lotus.
When will Lotus start taking orders on non first edition Emira's? My local dealer has nothing to say either way on anything Emira related. Communication black hole.
