I recently got an 87 Esprit S3, and I can't find what battery needs to be put in it, Interstate and Sears both don't have one listed, and after extensive searching I can't seem to find what battery I'm supposed to buy for it.

If anyone could tell me what size they've got in theirs it would be appreciated.

The G-gar battery goes into a compartment in the middle of the trunk floor so sizing is a bit more critical (and restrictive).

I guess I'll bring the car to a battery shop and just see what fits.

My 1987 G-car has a Bosch Group 86 battery in it. Obviously not the original, so I wouldn't swear it's correct, but it does fit just right. BTW, nice color blue. -Steve

If the car currently starts go to a good Interstate or similar battery shop and they will have you on the road right quick. Alternately you can measure the size of your dedicated battery space, noting which side needs what battery polarity (so your cables fit) and they can probably suggest a battery that will fit nicely.
