That was a great read!!! I miss all the Britishisms. Thanks a lot for posting!

Adamant (the sassenach :))
Bought that issue a few days ago. Yeah, interesting read -- but I'm surprised that none of the big British mags have yet to do a definitive road/track impressions test of the 111R. (Or have they, and I haven't seen them yet?) Personally, I would never budget space for a "novelty" article over an actual road test article.
Sorry for my stupid question, but what issue is this in? Is it the one where they compare the GT3, M400, 360CS and Exige? The same one with the Mclaren v. Carrera GT write-up? I am dying to get that issue, I can't find a single store all over town that has it yet.

i can't find it either. With Euro magazines you have to wait the middle of the month the issue is released.

for example, US magazines usually release a month before the issue month ( june issue available in may). With Euros it takes about a month to ship out here (june issue available in june).
Daaaaamn that's gotta be a good issue if it has all of this stuff in it! I'm going to go check today though. I heard on these boards that someone from Los Anglees already has seen this issue.
Wow first I have seen of the Lotus Nav. System! First picture on the passenger side dash, a proven and relaiable system.

Yes, it's the issue with Porsche GT vs McClaren on the cover, Evo #068, page 128, ... For some wacky reason, this issue does not have a month date on it. (Bad faux pas, at least in the world of US publishing). Anyhoo, bought mine at Borders.

FWIW, I don't think the article is a must-read for Elise fans. It reads more like a "travel tour." Well-written, but not anything that will shed much new light on the car itself.
I don't mind what car it is, I mostly like the actual text, and on top of that, the sublime potography. I love it. Thanks for the info.

BTW I went today to the local mag shop, and they said they might get it in tomorow (Friday). I'll check then, I'm really looking forward to this issue.

I have it. :)
Their comments about never dreading getting back into the car makes me happier about my drive from Austin to Bellingham.
Are you taking a ferry from Bellingham/Anacortes back home? I went to college there...

You will have to stop by on your way home. I am in Everett(just north of Seattle) right off of I-5 so its on your way!

Yep, and I will be stopping near Everett. I have a good friend just a few miles up US 2 in Startup.

Here's a photo of the Lotus Nav. System installed in the dash (6th picture from the left).

Cruising up Hwy 2 in the Elise should be fun - we will have to arrange something on your way up...I am near Snohomish so if you go up 2 you pass right by my house!
