Hi I'm new to the forum. I'm currently looking to purchase a 2012 Evora. Peddle shift. With 15000 miles. I want to know what to look out for? Any error or recall? Any advice will be appreciated. I am very excited to be joining the lotus family.

Welcome to the forum!

Some owners have had problems, while others have had absolutely nothing. So, its really hard say exactly what to look out for. And, it appears that no particular model year has been better or worse as far as any potential issues are concerned. (Remember that most forum users post their problems on a forum. Very few come on to post how they have had no issues.)

Although the engines are basically rock solid, minor stuff may pop up (brake switch issue, window regulator issues, cold start issues, etc.) that usually is more of an annoyance than preventing you from driving the car. Your best bet before you buy a car is to ask for all receipts and take it for a full PPI. You should also take it for a nice healthy drive and turn on every switch, light, button, lever etc to test them as you would any used car. Any recalls can be looked up via dealer or on-line.

Also, a Google search will help you find answers to most of your questions about buying since pretty much everything has already been asked and answered on this forum. But, here are some threads to get you started:

Checked out all these posts, learned a lot. One thing I don't see when looking around are any 2015 or 2016 cars. Anywhere. What happened in those years.....?

That is because Lotus did not build any Evora for 2015 or 2016. I also heard that Evora GT is the last of the Evoras for 2020.

Thanks James and Exira, I assumed as much (well maybe not the 'just none to the US' part) and just needed to hear it from someone that actually knew. After a very long painful mechanical refresh scam and then theft of my Esprit, I am now aiming at a 2013 or later Evora, from what reading here seems to suggest. Will probably have other questions especially when the actual shopping begins but right now it's basic homework while the legal BS and insurance claim are in process.....
