Evora close ratio transmission in the US - VIN de-code?

1206 10
I read that almost all USDM Evora's have the close ratio 'sport' manual gearbox. is that true? i know that you can manually verify on the transmission case, but is this searchable by running the cars VIN? any links to a vin decoder appreciated. thanks!

All Evora S will have the "Sport" manual gearbox as standard, I believe it was an option for the NA Evora. The VIN will tell you if the car is manual or not but will not tell you if it is a "Sport" gearbox . . . I suppose you can contact a dealer with the VIN and they can likely tell you what was configured with that car.

For 5-6, MD = Evora
For 7, S = Engine 3.5L Toyota 2GR-FE Supercharged V6
for 8, U = Front and Rear 3point Dual SIR 2 X ISOFIX
for 9, this is a check digit to validate that the VIN is a true VIN . . . there is a calculator on-line to check this value for your VIN
For 13, on the Evora 1 = manual gearbox

Per the Wiki and some maffs:

At 3000 RPM
STD: 3rd Gear 50MPH, 4th Gear 71
Close: 3rd Gear: 43.5, 4th Gear 56.25

My car: 3rd gear at 3K RPM: 44MPH. CLOSE.
