I LOVE the look of the Bodyshop Kobayashi sideskirts, but it seems they are unavailable due to INSANE shipping costs. UNfortunatly they look THE BEST imo.

There are the side skirts from Reverie or whatever, but they are "flat" and don't do anything to "lower" the look of the car which is the effect I want.

THEN there are the ones from that company in China, that look ok, are of questionable quality and tend to come shipped to you broken in half. Other than that they seem to be a nice in between "flat" and "formed"...but again Esta has a very bad rep here...UGH.

So then on to my question, can I buy any side skirts for my car that are under 11ty billion dollars, are actually 3d in shape (not flat pieces of carbon more or less) and don't come from China broke in half?

Just an idea...

I go to Japan twice a year on business and I suppose I could try to pick up these sideskirts for a few people. I wouldn't mind a set myself, they look pretty good.

I fly First/Business Class so I can bring just about anything with me (No baggage limits). I've dragged back splitters from the UK, suspension components from Holland and other stuff from France, Germany and Brazil.

I have a contact in Japan who can research/procure these items and see what the deal is.

Any interest?

Regards,
Wayne

I think the most important thing is just researching cheaper shipping solutions. Someone posted about these before and stated that BSK had too much on their plate with actual work to be concerned about finding a cheaper shipping method.

These skirts are what... $1300 and then shipping last I heard was $900? If I can get reasonable shipping I'd be down for a set too.

I'm CLEARLY interested, just let me know what I have to do! I work with a bunch of people from Japan maybe I could ask one of them to help...that sounds real rude actually...hahaha. These pices REALLY finish out the look of the car, and I'm shocked there aren't more options.

If I could just make my own carbon parts. What would I do, cut some cardboard in a shape, use that to make a 3d foam piece, lay it up, use that to make a mold, then make a part. Repeat for the opposite side.

DAMNIT NEVERMIND...can't a company make these for us in the ENTIRETY of the UNITED STATES!? We landed on the MOON for christs sake!

I took a look at this in person and the fitment is not that great. There's a pretty big gap that forms in the rear portion of the side skirt. I wanted to get one of these, but seeing it up close changed my mind.

Do a search on aero skirts and look for Cantrell Motorsports. I have these skirts on my ELise and love them. Look good a get me a few extra mph at the end of Pacific Raceways straight in Seattle. Sorry I don't have pix of them right now.
