Shots from the USS HONOLULU
(Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine) at the Arctic Circle, 280 miles from the North Pole.

The polar bears probably thought this was the biggest seal on earth and how can they eat it.

I have a friend who is a submariner, one of his favorite drinking stories is the one about them 'hearing' loud music, going up to scope depth and seeing a couple in the B-day suites going at it on the deck of a sail boat. They taped it through the scope and read the registery, the chief of the boat sent a copy to the address on the registery. Hope it was a kosher event and not one where a person was 'caught.' Submariners are a very cookey breed.

Hmm... Pictures of a US attack sub in the Arctic Circle supplied by a Chinese national in Hong Kong. Somebody call Ashcroft. ;)

MORE COOL PICS
These photos were taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Cross Lake in Shreveport, La. That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth! Are you ready to go skiing on Cross Lake?
