This was taken to highlight the 'blue' color at the show in reference to the model blue car that you can buy. The model is Laser blue, and the american car is Magnetic. Magentic is definitely darker and more of a red tint, although the red does not show through here as much.

Ahhhhh Dude, THANKS! I just put in my order today for the Saffron and was second guessing myself. This awesome picture makes my heart rest again as I DID make the right choice. Thanks for the new wallpaper.
Thanks for the comparison pic of the blue model versus the real car, that's a great way of illustrating the difference.
Hey, I was told those models were bolted down! I'm happy with Saffron Yellow, but I could be tempted by Lazer Blue if they choose to offer it to us.
std top

What is that top made out of?
Anyone else thiink the colored hard top makes the Elise look longer and more Ferrarish? 348 or Testerossa?
420HP, thanks for the pictures. When did u go 2 the show? From your pics, hardly anyone is there.

Absolutely, the hard top makes the car look very slick. But since it'll almost never be on, and this car wont see wet pavement I have a hard time justifying its cost.

That was from the second time I went! :D

Wednesday morning the crowds were small and Lotus was being more restrictive on allowing people in. If you asked, you got in. On opening day (Friday) morning, things in the booth got a little out of hand with ~30 people in the area.....

That is the scale model you can order (versus the plastic bodies that they painted at the show).
thanks 420hp, i also went the first day where it was pretty busy. I'm going a second time just to show my parents. It seems like they don't mind me buying this car, which I am really surprised, since safety/crashworthiness is an issue for my mom for the way I drive. LOL They didn't want me buying a M3. I guess this car looks so badass that they don't mind. :D
The elise is actually a pretty safe car as far as crash-worthiness from what I read. I recently read something that Lotus, although known for their suspension/engine work also does work for other manufacturers in safety engineering ( I think I read it in Autoweek). Should make your mom happy....
ivan, i've also read something about it being a pretty good crash performer from some of the other threads on this site. I can't wait to put each one of my parents in the passenger seat of the elise. I'm going to scare the sh*t out of them! LOL
