VERY EXcited :)

Sold my 2010 boxster spyder several months ago (so used to mid engine and "light weight" but the driver position and power-less steering will be new... needed a new track car...always wanted to buy a exige...

So finally I found a 2007 Exige S..track and touring pkg.. black with grey stripes, has a APR cf wing, some cf canards, harnesses, black light wheels with R888's, kold fire tune and larini exhaust. Has been tracked about 6-7 times apparently, which is okay, I track my cars, i'd expect no less of any lotus owner..

I'll probably add steel brake lines/ carbotech pads and fluids.. would love to work on the gearshifts which many people say is a bit weak/vague?? I dunno..guess I will see for myself on that

My daily will be a 14 CLA45 AMG, 355 hp, paddle shift DCT, awd, 31mpg 4.2 0-60 (maybe use in bad weather track days also for change of pace)..

Cool, you bought the one here in AZ. I have been watching that car for a bit and wondered if the recent price drop would get someone's attention. Congrats!

Thanks everyone! As you can see from my join date, I'm a LONG time lurker... I've thought about buying a exige (and NSX) so many times... had to bite the bullet. I work at a Benz dealer, and as much as I love AMG's, none come in manual, and as sport/lux cars they can be heavy... I do have that CLA45 AMG coming as a daily driver/occasional track car.

I go to summit point quite a bit if anyone goes (in the past in hondas, evo's, boxster spyder, nissan gtr)...VIR sometimes as well... hope to see some of you there!

couple questions:

are you guys upgrading shift cables and bushings or anything?

Things that should be upgraded for track use? he says there is a surge kit for fuel starvation... this car is not a dry sump also for oil starve is it? not an issue?

What brake pads are people using for track? ive been using carbotech xp10-12's the last few years with good success... id upgrade the fluids and lines probably... rotors maybe later

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Yup,totally stock. 11,526 miles too. Just use it for local errands and a pleasant drive to the track. Love the light steering and response, but you already know that seeing your former car list.

A couple of must do's for tracking.
Fuel starvation is a problem. Unless you are running slicks or have a fast setup, keeping the fuel tank over 1/2 full should suffice. To be safe, either get an upgraded fuel tanks with correct baffles or get a BOE fuel surge kit.
Oil Pan baffle. Upgrade the stock pan to the Sector111 GP pan.
Replace at least the front and rear engine mounts with stiffer mounts. Somewhere on the site is a video of how much the engine rocks around under high rev shifts. It's scary.
Make sure you have the Track Pack rear toe link or get an upgraded setup from Sector111.

I wouldn't track my car unless I had these items at a minimum.

Through in a set of track pads of your choice and have a blast.

previous owner said they have the BOE surge for fuel installed... car does have the lsd and track pack...so i guess the oil pan should be done... and brake items

Congats on that MR...if you keep it stock it will be worth (already is) a LOT. I had an 03 evo 8 gsr (one of the 1st on the east coast) and a 2010 evo X gsr.
