Hey Everyone,

I have a few scratches I would like to fix in the aluminum tub of the interior. Has anyone, sanded (lightly) to fix any imperfections here? :(

You will sand through the anodized coating which protects the aluminum, please don't.

If you decide to blend out the scratch, You can restore the anti-corrosion properties using Alodine (use Alodine 1001 as it is clear). Stuff is used all over the place in the aerospace industry, and since the interior isn't nearly as hostile of an environment as the exterior, corrosion problems should be minimal anyway.

Wow, I started the same thread a few weeks ago and I didn't know about Alodine. Going to check it out.

If you sand the aluminum without treating it afterward, it will turn dark pretty quickly.

Mom spit.

It can fix anything. Good for snake bites too!
