So I have searched this on google, but haven't found any info specifically about this.

I know the elise has staggered wheels
rotating them traditionally front to back is impossible, clearly

rotating them left to right due to unidirectional tires is also a no go

but can rims themselves unidirectional in any way?
(besides any obvious pattern directions)

or am I worrying for nothing about mounting new tires "the wrong way" on the wheels.

the wheels are not unidirectional.
Tires, yes, wheels no.

it really shouldn't be possible to mount the tires wrong. If you want to do a tire rotation, dismount them from the rims and swap only the tires.
