i like the look of the bare aluminum floors without the mats but there is some kind of a film on the floor that i cant remove. im not sure if its glue for the mats or a sound deadener but its ugly enough that i have to use the mats to cover it. any ideas on how to get it off without scraping/damaging floor? thanks

I removed that stuff on my driver's side floor - same reasons as the OP. It was a PAIN to remove. I don't think Goo-gone or other stuff is up to the task. I used a razor to pry up little edges and peeled it off a tiny bit at a time. Was arduous to say the least but it does come off.

the mg product works well. took me little over hour for both sides using it along with razor and pliers but well worth the effort. so much nicer with the bare aluminum showing in all its glory
thanks
