2008 Ducati 1098
I am the original owner and purchased the bike new in January ’08 from Champion Ducati in Charleston, SC. The bike is in perfect condition. You will not find another ’08 (no matter how many miles) in better condition. Once you see it, you will agree. I’ve looked at a large number of used cars and bikes in the past where the seller claimed the vehicle was in “perfect/immaculate/pristine” condition, only to find out how untrue those claims were after seeing the vehicle. That is not the case with this bike. When I say perfect, I mean perfect.
The details:
* 1,861 miles
* Just installed brand-new billet aluminum open clutch cover, pressure plate, caps, stainless springs/screws (I still have the stock clutch cover and pressure plate which will be included)
* 600-mile service was performed at Champion Ducati
* Cored exhaust using 2.5-inch perforated pipe and Two Brothers exhaust wrap (I purchased a new OEM exhaust to core)- less than 300 miles on exhaust. I still have the factory exhaust that came on the bike which will be included.
* Front and rear white number boards
* All keys and manuals are included
* Rear seat and passenger footpegs included
* Battery Tender included
* Remaining factory warranty through January, 2010
As stated before, the bike is perfect and flawless (no scratches/dings/etc.). It has always been garaged, has never seen a drop of rain, and was regularly detailed. It has never been dropped, never been tracked, never been raced. Just as well, I’ve never pushed the bike hard. If you look closely at the original tires still on the bike, you’ll see “chicken strips” and “nubs”, as the bike has never been leaned over all the way. The bike was properly broken in as per owner’s manual instructions. In regards to the cored exhaust, I did the work myself and spent about 5 meticulous hours per can. The results are perfect and the exhaust looks like it came straight from the factory. The tone is absolutely incredible in person. I personally think this set-up sounds better than any other aftermarket exhaust I’ve heard. My last Ducati was a 999 with a Remus exhaust. As much as I loved the tone of that set-up, I like my 1098 set-up even better.
My reason for selling is to purchase a Lotus Elise. The wife says I can only have one toy, so the 1098 has to go.
Bike is located in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Bike is paid for with clear title in hand. My asking price is $13,000 OBO.
