The Phaeton represents the pinnacle of Volkswagen engineering, power, and luxury and sold for nearly $100,000 when new.
My wife said she always wanted a luxury car and so when I saw this one come up for sale a couple of years ago I though this was it.
We are the second owners of this fantastic driving machine and, while we have thourougly enjoyed owning it,
it seems that it is perhaps too luxurious for her (actually she's probably just tired of me reminding her to be careful all the time). Anyway, she finds she's more comfortable tooling around town in our Honda Element
so we're letting go of our once in a lifetime indulgence and I'm hoping to use the proceeds to fund the Lotus that I've always wanted.

Features:

W12 engine producing 400+h.p. and gets 22 mpg highway (we've been averaging 18mpg in mixed city/hwy driving)

Black Klavierlack exterior with Beige leather interior (still smells new!)

75,000 miles

clear title

complete tune-up including fresh plugs, air, fuel and oil filters

full list of specs can be found here on Edmunds.com

an enthusiastic endorsement from BBCs Top Gear can be seen here

Great Car that never got the respect it deserved.
+1

Good luck with the sale. I would buy it from you if I needed a car but my Passat has over 120,000 miles on it and still runs like new. I would highly suggest this car to anyone who is interested. IMOA it is by far the best car for the money in it's class!

Still for sale? I'm looking at getting something for my mother. I think she needs to update from her 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300SD.
