vegas trip

the vegas trip is for all new Lotus vehicles purchased from Sept 18th 2006 to Nov 30th 2006. You get one day on the track for an Elise and two days on the track for an Exige. If you purchased your vehicle between those dates, Lotus will contact in March to set up everything.

On another note, has anyone heard of ReVerie? The have a weird looking body kit that turns your car into something completely different.

just noticed that lotus DE promotion has been extended and widened in scope.

buy a new lotus or exige between september 18th and december 31st 2006....

so the end date has been moved out a month and i also take this to mean that 2007's are now included as they dropped the language which specified 2006.

You are correct that the date has been extended to December 31st but it only holds true for a 2006 MY and not for a 2007............:(

Bummer. :(

Anyone know if the track days are an option one can purchase with a 2007 and how much they'd be?

I would guess they just wont put the 07's on the market till this is over... the idea being to extend this date to encourage more sales of the existing 06's as winter comes... i'm guessing an otherwise dificult sales period for a little convertible. But yes, keeping '06 in the text might be wise regardless if people are waiting for the 07's, it might push the purchase of an 06. It was part of my consideration on whether to buy used of not.

Last I heard, Lotus was going to come up with some sort of special pricing for current Lotus Elise/Exige owners.

On a side note, I don't think we'll be seeing '07's til' the very end of '06 or even the beginning of '07...just my opinion.

FWIW, I called my dealer, who told me to talk to Lotus USA. I then called Lotus USA, who told me to talk to my dealer.

I then called two other dealers, neither of whom could help me. I gave up at that point and began looking at a driving school in Houston.

Hopefully Lotus does come up with some kind of special pricing for current owners.

While at the LA Auto Show, I noticed at the Lotus display that there was an Elise/Exige that had printed on the windshield something to the effect of "Lotus Driving Experience." I asked the representative about it, and he explained that it was a program for new Lotus customers - operated out at Las Vegas (I bought mine a month too soon to qualify!). He DID say however, that Lotus was thinking about opening up the program to the general public at a later date.

The promotion details have been updated.

You have to send in proof of purchase (I guess their is a UPC tag somewhere on the car). You didn't throw away the box did you?

Check out rule #3!

"Product must be new and unused? "

huh?

I guess it means it applies to new vehicle purchases only... but that's a weird way of stating it.

Lotus Cars USA cueless about their own promootion

I read the updated Las Vegas promotion notice on Lotus Cars USA website after reading qball's last post. The promotion states the following for claiming the trip to Las Vegas:

2. Return a completed qualification form, including the VIN number of the car, along with a copy of your sales receipt with the purchase date circled.
3. Product must be new and un-used. Offer valid for purchases made from September 18, 2006 thru December 31, 2006.
4. All claims must be postmarked by January 31, 2007 and received by February 15, 2007.

When I spoke to my dealer, Lotus Motorsports in Waltham, MA, in late November ( I picked up my new 06 Elise on 11/4) they informed me that Lotus Cars USA would contatc me directly regarding the promotion. This they told me came directly from Lotus when they inquired. There was no mention of any form that needed to be filled out at this time just that Lotus would contatc me. Since that time the promotion was extended to December 31st 2006 and now the additional rules have been added.

So today I decided to call Lotus Cars USA to inquire as to how to get this claim form. I spoke to Sandra in customer service who informed me that she did not know of any form that was required to be filled out and that I would be contatcted by Lotus in mid Februaury 2007 regarding the promotion. When I tried to explain the new rules now posted on the website she was totally clueless as to what I was talking about and stuck to her mid Februaruy story. Obviously if I wait to hear from then until mid Febrauary I would end up being ineligible due to the now published January 31st post mark deadline.

Does anyone else know anything about this qualification form that must be filled out? I suggest that anyone else who is elegible for this promotion should also call Lotus Cars USA and ask this same question and maybe they will get their act together and have all their people reading from the same page. If I follow the advice I received from Lotus today I would probably be out of luck. You can give Lotus a call at 770-476-6540. Please post with any information you may receive.

Dave
