I had been toying with the idea of removing the front clam rear fender extensions(FRP body panel with clear side marker lights, attaches to the lower rear of the clam and then to the under side of the car behind front the wheels).
Sunday after ravaging the hills near my house I came home and did just that. Since my doors are just skins now I was able to mount a female dzus fastener to the inner body. I then pulled the lower front of the door edge in to match the rocker panel hidden(still has the lower fender contour of the panel removed) behind the removed piece. I had some sheet copper in the basement so I cut two 7"X10" pieces and contoured them to hide the Door hinge mounts and to give the area a nice flowing contoured look.

Here's a shot of the prototyped panel and how the car looks with the mod. I still have to make an aluminum brace that attaches the door hinge bosses([email protected]) to the lower rear bosses of the front clam([email protected])
