front/rear brake pads - same or different?

I am guilty of messing with this more than I ever should have. My current view is that the same compound all round is just fine. I would perhaps recommend a higher friction compound in the rear if you still have OEM callipers. For street use, none of this matters much.

Which model are you asking about or are you asking in general? If the brake bias is set up by the manufacturer correctly, the compound should be kept equal front and rear. And it's usually set up correctly by the manufacturer. Some would argue the Elise isn't set up correctly, but that's not my experience (and ABS hides a lot of issues).

Upgrade rear calipers to to a set of fronts and run rc6 front rc5plus pads In rear also disable abs. Much improved like this.

I have dsuno in front and ds 1.11 in rear and this configuration is not so good. I prefer better pad in rear. I had ealier ds 1.11 in rear and ds 2500 in front and balance was better. I will prefer to set ds 1.11 in front and ds 3.12 in rear.
