I am the 4th owner, bought the car at 41k miles. I have done 5 track days and added about 6k miles. The rocker panel star-shield needs replaced, I am going to schedule replacement this month. I'll post newer pictures when this is done.

Here is a thread detailing some of the changes I made: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f157/kazis-exige-track-car-build-215721/

This is a great street or track car. Whenever I went to the track I would adjust the suspension to be stiffer, then soften it before heading home. I've taken it for a weekend cruise on many mountain and back country roads. Brake pads are amazing on track and very street able. They only have a little squeal at slow stops, warm up with one or two quick stops.

I wasn't expecting to sell it any time soon, work is ramping up in pace and will be taking a lot more of my time over the next few years. It is going to sit around more than I would like.

Sound of supercharger when going all out (stock exhaust is now back on the car, at the time of video it had the BOE ST):

The Kokdfire 270 tune isn't emissions legal however.

I also run the Kokdfire tune and have to flash back to the stock tune when smogging. It shouldn't be a problem because most smog techs don't even know what a exige is.
Same here, except I drop in a standard ECU.

My Koldfire fails in CA as it doesn't set the 2 O2 ready states, and CA only allows 1 state to be not ready. 2 not ready is an immediate fail.

Cheers.

I smog 2-5 cars in California weekly. 2000+ smog is tested through the obd2 port, not a sniffer test. During the test, the smog machine asks if the car is turbo/supercharged. If the monitors are complete, the car could pass smog if the visual inspection was overlooked which is very possible because most smog techs are not familiar with a lotus Elise/exige. As far as bringing a car from out of state, that does not have to be done through chp. A vin verification can be done at the DMV. The vin verification will consist of verifying the vin on the dash, door, and federal/California smog sticker under the engine hatch. A DMV inspector will most likely overlook any turbo/supercharger as they just try to get as many vin verifications as possible.

To my point, CA smog is possible. Good luck with your sale. Nice looking car.

Edit: I have no personal experience with the tune on this car. I can not say one way or another if monitors are/can be set with this tune or another.

re:Smog.

The legal answer: It's modified, and is not CA legal.

The truth: When I had the car tuned, it was programmed WITH the readiness codes, so it passes an OBDII read. It still has a cat, and passes the sniffer. The only "issue" is visual. 1- if the person knows it's an N/A car, they'll notice the giant intercooler when they pop the hood. 2- the vacuum diagram provided OEM is no longer accurate, and is a dead give-a-way.

You could get a vacuum diagram from an 07+, and stick it on there... but that's on you!

What's the worst case scenario for bringing this car into CA? Take it to get smogged, it doesn't pass visual, pull off the supercharger for inspection, and drop it back on for "track use" afterwards? $ estimates for the on-and-off with the supercharger, intercooler, etc? Will it require a stock ECU once the supercharger is pulled?
