SOLD

Hi All,
I picked up a set of carbon fiber scoops from another forum member but decided to go a different route. They were never installed on his car or mine. They are from ebay, great quality though. Carbon fiber outside and i think fiber glass inside. I will get some pictures up soon. They come with two scoops and 6 spacers for the three holes. They do not come with the bolts, mounting hardware or mesh. I planned on fabricating my own mounts so I wouldn't have to drill the car. More information about the mounts in the thread below:

http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f92/ebay-carbon-exige-scoops-66875/

175+ shipping.

Thanks.

Looks like a CF overlay on fiberglass to me. If that's the case you overpaid a LOT!

I just wanted to mention that those on eBay are fully carbon fiber according to the seller.

Hello,
This scoop is made of 100% carbon fiber, and it is dry carbon.

Best Regards
Roger
Good luck with the sale of the scoops. I am sad to see someone overcharged someone else on here. That's just not right.

you can see the chop stand fiber glass used on the back of these scoops.these have been selling on ebay for 199.00$ to as high as 400.00$.so this member must have got them for the higher price.last week all that was available was the 369.00 price.now the 200.00$ ones are back.

I do not have a dog or pony in this show (I have a set of $750 CF Reverie scoops), but just remember that not all scoops are made equal (even if it s all CF or CF & fiberglass). A dollar saved buying a part can easily be wasted trying to get the part to fit.

Again, I am not saying X is better than Y.

The more I think about it the more I think you might be right. Because when I bought them I looked on ebay to see where he bought them and they were 300 something. And then someone mentioned a few weeks ago that they were 200 something but when i looked all I found were the 300 something. But when I check today they are 200.

What I can say about quality is that I have a friend who has these same scoops (and I believe payed the 300 amount) and they fit perfectly. I taped them to the car to see how they would look and they fit my car perfectly as far as I can tell.

yea they just pulled a mold off the stock part.so the fit should be as good.its strange why they didnt make the holes the same size.you car see the impression of the lotus size holes in the part.but they drill them smaller.so all that is needed is to open the holes up to the lotus size.

I bought a pair myself, and believe me, they are not dry prep carbon. Although US$199 is cheap compare to some other products on the market, it is still a considerable profit for something so simple and cheap to make (made in China). Nevertheless, can't really blame anyone for making profits, afterall, noone forces us to buy...

It might be inexpensive but i think for what it is it is very good quality. It fits right, the weave looks nice. I bought it because i figured no one is gonna see the inside and not much extra weight would be saved with full carbon. And I started a thread asking about them and several people have had them for thosands of miles with no problems and no yellowing.

As you can see in these pictures there is no yellowing and they are in brand new condition.

I got a set of the $230 off of eBay in the mail today. If these would have been a matte finish, I would have been all over them. The quality is great, the weave is perfect on the set that I got. This is a great deal for someone.
