Need to fix your elise, or exige?

Never used 230v Cornwell tig welder with all pieces still in the bags....$1000
one time used 230v Cornwell Plasma cutter.....one used one time!!!!....$1000

If you buy both ill pay the shipping......

None of the aluminum on the Elise is ever meant to be welded. Heat will destroy the tensile strength of aluminum extrusions and this is why the car is bonded together, not welded.

On the other hand, a plasma cutter would be great for cutting up your salvaged Elise frame to sell the aluminum to the scrap man or you could use the TIG welder for welding together the scrap into really cool Elise chassis art! ;)

Sorry, I didn't mean it was a dumb thread as far as selling your equipment goes. It's fine equipment.

I just meant the joke that it was useful for fixing an Elise or Exige. ;)

Right now I could use both to fabricate seat and harness mounts for the Recaro seat, since it appears that Lotus will not sell them separately from the seat (at a 100% markup).

Just cause it can't be used on an elise doesn't mean it's not a great couple of tools to have. If I had the money right now, I'd be all over this.
