I made a couple of these a while ago. Shawn C used one on his car for a long time.
I never installed this on on my car. I ended up with a trailer.

2" mild steel thin wall tubing. Installation requires drilling 2 holes in your subframe.
Quick on and off after your initial install.

I used it to tow at 70mph to and from the track lol. Works great for toting your slicks and a tool box. Removes in seconds...

Here's a few more pictures. I made a few of theses hitches a while back.
We were towing the small harbor freight trailers with 4 rims, tires and tool boxes. 2" square tubing is overkill for this application.
You can stand on the back of the hitch when it's mounted on the car, it doesn't bend. Any size ball will bolt on.
