Some more tips

You will most likely want the seats out, and definetely the rear interior panel. the fuel pump's connections for fuel pipe and electric are under that rear interior panel.

The fuel filler neck hose clamp is accessible after you remove the rear right fender liner.

Once you have the shear panel off (and brake/shift cables out of the way) you can unbolt the brackets that support the fuel tank. Even with the brackets removed, my tank was wedged in there so hard, it had to be tugged on to lower it.

When re-installing, the fuel filler neck hose clamp is a bitch to start because it just wants to spin. I duct tape it to the fuel hose to get the screw started on the clamp. Be sure not to drop the tool you are using to tighten this clamp, because it will drop onto the top of the tank and is not recoverable unless you drop the tank again. How do I know?....because a 10mm socket lives on top of my tank.

cheers
