Just a FYI for those of you who are wondering:

The front amber side marker lights DO fit in the rear.
I just did the conversion in order to be EURO compliant when shipping the car to Germany next year.
I ordered two front marker lights from Lotusgarage, and the left front fits
at the rear right, and the right front fits at the rear left rear.
All the connectors, wire length etc. fit. It's all plug-and-play

The only tricky part is to get the rubber grommet which, seals the wire running into the trunk, from the old (red) light and onto the new (amber) one.
The front lights don't have that grommet, and I had to figure out how to remove the pins from the connector in order to get it off.
A tiny screw driver did the trick at the end.
Just remove the red plastic clip, use the srewdriver to gently pull up the little latch in the connector and pull out the pin...

Hi Mr.C

May I ask you if you had to remove the rear wheels in order to do this, or the sidemarkers can be removed without having to remove rear wheel and/or inner plastic wheelarch cover, and also ask if the connector is accesible trough the boot?

I don´t have the car with me at the moment and I can´t see it myself

Regards.

Wow, the first response to my thread after more than five years :nanner:

But to be honest after 5 years I've forgotten if I had to take the rear wheel off or not.
You do need to remove the rear wheel arch liner in order to get to the connectors.
So I think doing this with the wheel off is just easier.
I think the connestor itself is inside the boot somewhere.
