Lets say a work is performed on a car under warranty (very close to the end of the warranty period). then a few weeks/days/months went by (not years though as I think it's unfair) and the car is out of warranty, and the same problem that was worked on and covered under warranty previously starts giving headache again.

Will the AD be able to fix this same problem under warranty (considering same problem, same place, basically same symptom as when reported the first time and was covered under warranty)? And lets say that the first time fix was not right, or something like to that degree. Do owners have to cough up the dough?

I ran into something like this with a F#*d. They covered the (identical) repairs the first time, then when it happened again they 'cut me a break.' Then I traded the truck in.

Even if the manufacturer warranty expires, replacement parts often have their own separate warranty e.g. 12 months, although that may or may not cover labor
