My new Elise and the others that I have sat in have a strong solvent or adhesive smell. Does anybody know how to get rid of the smell? The car is in the garage with the windows down.

It goes away after a week or two. Its the "new car smell" from the plastics and vinyl.

Maybe you need to take the car outside and drive it to air it out

There'a huge lump of brand-spanking-new fibreglass sitting in your garage, happily releasing fumes from the resin.. What did you think it would smell like?

That is fiberglass resin smell and after 8 weeks my car still has it. Lotus cologne to me! After it goes away I will have to brush resin on every few weeks.

Yep, I'm going to miss that smell when it wears off But then I like the smell of new tyres too. My wife thinks I'm mad, so I probably am

Mine is over 3 months old and when you open the trunk the smell is still there. I like it! kind of sweet!
