Well I'm gonna go see the Ardent red car today. I'm taking my 5 mega-pixel camera so expect some BIG pictures of the Liz. I will also take my video camera (I hope can I remember how to use it) and I will try to get some footage that does not include excessive panning and zooming. My girlfriend seems to like to shoot video that makes you dizzy and nauseous. If I can pry it form her hands I will have at it.

Leaving pretty soon are there any things I should find out or specific pictures you want to see?

Measure the distance from the head intake area to the firewall to see if the TRD SC would even have a chance of fitting. That would possibly help clear a few things up:)
You could also take a picture of the serpentine belt and the area around it (if you are behind the car looking at the engine it should on your right) to see if the SC pulley will fit.

Derek, you get a chance to upload your pics yet?
Yeah come on Derek, we can't wait all day:D
Hopefully he hasn't done it yet because he has so many picutres it is taking him a while to crop/edit/upload them:)
It was Valentines Day yesterday...

He said he was taking his girlfriend (Cameron Diaz) to the car show to see the Elise...he has probably spent all night begging her to let him buy the Elise:)

1 pic is all you got? :) How was the setup? I am making a 4 hour trip next weekend.
nxm,
These cars have been photographed in great detail. gotapex took loads of high res pics of all the cars. Here's the link for any of you that may have missed these pics, warning loads of bandwidth.

So its too late for this thred, but the next time someone goes to a car show, can they stick a camera behind a wheel and snap some pics of the suspension on the regular and LSS models? Esp the adjustment mechanism?

My salesman was not there when I arrived. The car was on the floor across from the Porsche display. The cars were not behind any ropes but they were locked up. I spoke to another one of the salesmen and he gave me the key, but only me and my friends were given permission to go in the car. I felt kinda bad having to lock it up as there were many people that wanted to see inside the Elise, but it was they didn't want people in it so it was out of my hands.

Overall the interior was too plasticky for my taste. I would like to see Alcantara or leather used on the dash, as it would add an air of quality to the whole presentation. I know it’s not the final design so things might change in there. The car looked great in person. Not as small as I remember it (that felt funny to say). Getting in with the roof on was interesting but once inside I did not want to leave. My girlfriend got in with absolutely no trouble. When you go remember to put the seat back all the way before attempting to get in. I didn’t but I can see how it could make things easier. The seats felt more comfy than the Euro car. Of course the real reason this car exist is to drive it and I did not get to do that. It won’t be long now.

The dashboards in the showcars were not the final config. The dashes on the us cars will have a textured finish, not sure if leather covered (probably not)

evl, I think Randy took some close up pics of the suspension at LA, but I have no idea which LA pic thread to look in!

Maybe the lighting at the Pittsburg auto show makes the red Elise more/less desirable.

Did you have to show your receipt or did they have the list of depositors there?
Unfortunately the indoor lighting just doesn't do the different colors of the elise justice. :(

Red and yellow look especially tasty outside!:)
